Orkney Blues Festival 2027
Welcome to the most northerly blues festival in the UK — where world-class music meets island hospitality.
Following our nomination for “Best Festival” at the UK Blues Federation awards in 2026, we’re excited to build on that success with an unforgettable 2027 edition. Our first headliner is the Grammy-winning Alvin Youngblood Hart, making his Orkney debut and bringing his electrifying blues to the islands for the very first time.
Festival Format
Our festival combines ticketed mainstage events held in the iconic Stromness Town Hall on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights - alongside a full programme of free events across local bars in Stromness. The weekend pass grants access to all mainstage performances in the Town Hall with a curated collection of blues artist events throughout the weekend, offering a completely different level of blues festival magic.
Thanks to our new lighting and sound partners, the Town Hall is transformed into a truly spectacular blues club atmosphere. With professional backline, state-of-the-art sound, and lighting effects, you’ll experience authentic, rocking blues vibes that elevate every performance.
Meanwhile, the free events showcase both our visiting and local artists, creating a vibrant community atmosphere throughout the weekend.
Look out for other special ticketed and free events across Orkney during the festival weekend.
