Vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, saxophonist and songwriter with the Fastliners, Don Holdernesse is bringing his own style of blues to this years festival with two original sets of music.
On Saturday he will take to the stage with three piece band,‘Fran and the Janitors’.
‘Fran and the Janitors’ consists of Don Holdernesse on Guitars and vocals, Pete Thomas on bass, and Laurie Mitchell on drums. Were not sure who Fran is and were still arguing over who in the band are the Janitors, but we liked the name so it stuck.
Expect an all original set of “Progressive Blues Fusion” (Whatever that is!!??) full of instrumental inventiveness and technical mastery, along with some funky songs thrown in for good measure.
On Sunday Don has taken on the task of unleashing a solo set of his own acoustic blues music on the general public. Noted for being able to play almost any instrument known to man, he may feature Guitar, dobro, fiddle, keyboards, sax, mandolin, bassoon , bazouki, ukulele….. then again he may not!? He might even enlist the help of a few select musos to help out, or even a dreaded loop pedal. You’ll have to come along to find out.
