Dave Morrison sings with passion about life's rich experiences and challenges, tragic and joyous. He has the knack of capturing the essence of strong emotion and connecting this with the listener through his moving ballads and quirky, captivating music and voice. 

Originally from Edinburgh, Dave has lived in the beautiful Orkney Islands for the last ten years and has drawn inspiration from his stunning surroundings and the people he has met there. His songs have hints of jazz, blues, country, folk and world music. Each song is a unique slice of life. 

Dave has recently released a 7 track EP entitled "Coffee Cups" on itunes and CDBaby and can be seen on YouTube, his channel is called davemorag1.

Orkney Blues was established in 2006 to develop and maintain a first class Blues Festival in the Orkney Islands. The committee is made up of local artists and blues enthusiasts and is supported by local businesses.

Orkney Blues has grown since then and we look forward to our biggest festival yet in 2011.
