The Orkney Blues Festival brings together local and national artists across multiple venues for a blistering weekend of blues music, year after year. 

Almost all events and venues are FREE to enter across the weekend, with the exception of the Thursday and Sunday special events which are ticketed.

+ Support: The Driftwood Cowboys & local artists Andrew Taylor and Douglas Montgomery

Family friendly event - event ends at 2300 hours. BYOB policy - there are no refreshments available at the Stromness Town Hall, so please bring your own food and drink with you. Alcohol is permitted.

The blues weekend kicks off on the Friday evening across the four main venues;
The Stromness Hotel | The Royal Hotel | The Ferry Inn | The British Legion

All venues are within minutes of each other and free to enter with local and national artists playing live music all night. Join us for Orkney Blues 2016!

The afternoon begins strong with local artists including Craig Rendall, Snarx and the Burray Blues Club jam session.

Here you'll find local talent, and home to the Bike and Poppy Rally (held Saturday 17th)

Nestled between our main venues, The Royal British Legion opens it's doors to the annual Bike and Poppy Rally - held on the Saturday afternoon of the festival. Bikes, blues and more from 12 noon Saturday.

The legion has also hosted great young local bands over the years, with the freedom to showcase their own original flavour of blues.

Bringing an annual dose of Blues to the isles

Story:

The Orkney Blues Festival brings together local and national artists across multiple venues for a blistering weekend of blues music, year after year. 

All events are free of charge, with the exception of the Grand Finale at The Stromness Hotel. This event will host all of the Headlining Acts from the festival.

The committee operate Orkney Blues as volunteers, and do not make a profit. All funds go to providing bigger and better events - and attracting well-known and talented artists to the Orkney islands.

The committee is made up of blues enthusiasts and local artists, with support for the festival coming from local businesses in Orkney.
