I'm Lucy Zirins and I'm a singer/songwriter.
I play bits of everything, folk, jazz stuff, soul, but my main thing? Blues. Nothing else like it in the world.
Mainly I've always played acoustic guitar and I sung, but I've developed a passion for slide guitar which I'm playing more and more of now, it's become a bit of an obsession to be honest which is going to continue forever I think haha!
I really feel like I've found my thing with it, but infact I've found my thing with every kind of music I play in general, it's in my soul; it's what I was born and plan to do for the rest of my life.
I also play electric guitar with a fondness for chicago style blues, and am planning to do something with that soon so keep your ears open!
I started playing guitar about four years ago when my Uncle Chris died. The acoustic guitar I own was his - he played accordian and was learning guitar. When they cleared out his stuff, they found it and a load of music books. When asked if I wanted it, I said yes straight away and taught myself to play to keep his memory alive. It was my way of making a good thing out of a bad situation.
I took to it quickly and soon was jamming every day, and I've never looked back. Because of his death I learnt to play and I developed an overwhelming passion for music like I'd never had before.
